The TFI Driver Respect Campaign  https://www.transportforireland.ie/ launches today Monday November 16th.  This is to encourage passengers to show respect for public transport drivers, who ensure our essential public services are provided.

It is key we support this campaign to highlight the important role public transport workers play in keeping Ireland moving in these uncertain times. By rolling out this messaging, the NTA aims to encourage even greater levels of respect towards drivers and staff working across the TFI public transport network.

Our bus drivers have provided an essential frontline service for the public, making sure people get to where they need to go. Throughout the pandemic, drivers have continued to meet the needs of passengers while ensuring a safe and sanitized travelling environment for those who must travel. They have not only earned our thanks, but they also deserve the greatest level of respect from all commuters.

The vast majority of the travelling public have been understanding with high usage of face coverings. Anyone taking public transport over the coming days, please be aware of the contribution our drivers are making, and to thank them for their efforts.

Please remember to be polite and kind on your travels in the run up to Christmas. Respect goes a long way, and we can all play our part in creating a more positive environment for public transport workers.
